Lemonade for a Purpose at Bowling Green Hot Rods Games

Baseball is back for the Bowling Green Hot Rods, and Crocker Law Firm is partnering with them to bring a brand-new addition to Bowling Green Ballpark.

Crocker Law Firm’s “Lemonade for a Purpose” will be set up during Friday and Saturday games this season, with proceeds on Friday nights going to Down Syndrome of South Central Kentucky and benefiting the Boys to Men Leadership Group of Kentucky on Saturdays.

One of the best things about Lemonade for a Purpose is that representatives from both non-profits will be working the lemonade stand, giving the community a chance to meet the people behind the scenes and learn more about their organizations.

Down Syndrome of South Central Kentucky

Down Syndrome of South Central Kentucky (DSSKY) started in 1996 as a support group for families who have children with Down syndrome. Today that group is a fully registered non-profit serving the ten-county BRADD region. You may know DSSKY most prominently through their headquarters, The Buddy House. Between DSSKY and The Buddy House, this organization can uplift and support new and expectant parents and people with Down syndrome aged 0-adulthood. For information on DSSKY and other ways you can support their mission, visit their website at http://dssky.org/

Boys to Men Leadership Group

The Boys to Men Leadership Group is a program that helps young men in the Warren County and Bowling Green City school districts prepare for life beyond the school system. The program accomplishes this by focusing on academics and the mental, emotional, and social well-being of each student.

Directed by Tyreon Clark, the program now includes an initiative called Boys to Law Enforcement. Through partnerships with the Bowling Green Police Department, Warren County Sheriff’s Office, and Western Kentucky University Police Department, this section of the program centers on mentorships that aim to close the gap between the young men in our community and law enforcement. For more information on these initiatives, you can visit their website at https://sites.google.com/bgreen.kyschools.us/boystomenky/home.

Whitney Kinslow

Raised just down the road in Scottsville, Kentucky Whitney Kinslow now calls Bowling Green home. She is a self-proclaimed food and travel junkie, having traveled to 6 countries in the last 8 years. When she isn’t coordinating Crocker Law Firm’s next event, she and her husband, Sam can often be found exploring their own town, forever finding new “favorite” places and spaces.
