Good food for a great cause.
When a friend asked if he could station his food truck in the Crocker Law Firm parking lot and serve lunch, we were given plenty of food for thought. It sounded like a fun way to bring another lunch option to downtown Bowling Green and to support a small local business. We could also use the event to support a local charity.
After the first event it was pretty clear that this needed to be a recurring thing. Select Fridays from May through October have been designated as “Food Truck Fridays”, each of them featuring a local food truck and benefiting a different non-profit. Crocker Law Firm makes a donation equal to 20% of sales to the designated charity.
Whether you are savoring the yum yum sauce from Shoguns or the tangy slaw on a Whit’s Dog, It’s hard not to smile when you eat at a food truck. And you really feel like part of a community when you get a crowd together to share a meal and support a good cause.
People from all over Bowling Green and the surrounding areas have come out to support the charities, which so far have included Hotel Inc., Junior Achievement of South Central Kentucky, Life’s Better Together, and Kid’s on the Block of South Central Kentucky. Upcoming dates will support Berenda’s Crossing, the Bowling Green Warren County Humane Society, Room at the Inn, and the Family Enrichment Center.

The truth is, these events would be nothing without the stars of the show, the food trucks. We have enjoyed great meals from Tha Mo Mo Kitchen, Whit’s Dogs, DeWalt’s Concessions and Catering, Shogun Express, and BG Cheese Wagon. A special thanks goes out to The PopWorks, who jumped on board to provide dessert at every lunch.
If you haven’t had the chance to join us for lunch, you can see the remaining 2018 dates for Food Truck Fridays below. If you have an event or sponsorship idea for Crocker Law Firm, email me at [email protected]. We hope to see you at our future events!
